The sanctuary

The sanctuary located in the apse has as its centerpiece a gothic retable or altarpiece from the early twentieth century, in which are inset the statues of Saint Saturnin who appears with John the Baptist, Saint James, Saint Fermin and Saint Honestus. On either side, two reliefs represent the betrothal of Mary and the presentation of Christ in the temple. Carved into the lower base are the twelve apostles.

Represented in the three stained glass windows of the apse are Saint Saturnin preaching in Pamplona, the baptism of the first Christians in the city and the martyrdom of the holy bishop in Toulouse.
